Funding Helps Build Knowledge Based Economy

Senator Johnson should have also recognized the benefits that $8 million in research funds will have in building a knowledge based economy in SD.  I understand that politically these funds help solve problems of farmers and ranchers and help put food on the table.  But research funds have a snowball effect, research builds knowledge and infrastructure to attract more research.  SDSU has a lot to offer the agricultural industry and in turn will create a more robust balanced economy with the addition of knowledge based jobs.
